TAIJI BALL QIGONG for EVERYONE!
with Dr. Jay Dunbar, Ph.D.
at Body Balance Fitness Studio, 705 Broad Street, Oriental NC
http://www.bodybalancefitnessstudio.com/Workshops/TaiChiBall2008.html
Sunday, September 28, 2008
10:00 - 12:00 (Lunch 12-1:30, on your own) 1:30-3:30 PM

Taiji Ball is an ancient training method that uses a series of simple moves while holding a ball. It conditions the muscles, nourishes the spine, strengthens the core, and teaches the mind to move qi (“chee”). As a complement to form practice, it enhances push-hands abilities and increases power and grip strength. It serves as an excellent foundation for further study of Taiji or as an auxiliary to any other sport or workout. Come experience the playful power of Taiji Ball!

Please bring a ball that weighs less than 5 lbs., like a soccer ball. (The training begins with lightweight spheres and then progresses at an individual pace to heavier ones.)

Cost $50. Please pay for the workshop when you register, payment may be mailed to: PO Box 383 Oriental, NC 28571.

There will be no refunds after Sept. 24, 2008. For specific questions regarding the workshop, call Rose Peterson 252-745-7840 or email dragte@always-online.com

Master Zhu Tiancai is one of the 19th generation Chen style Taijiquan standard bearers. Born in 1944 in Chenjiagou (the birthplace of Chen Taijiquan) in the Henan province of China, Zhu Tiancai trained under 18th generation Grandmasters Chen Zhaopei and Chen Zhaokui. Zhu Tiancai's form is exceptional and characterized by "smooth flowing" and "softness." Master Zhu teaches internationally and has decades of teaching experience. His hands-on, down-to-earth teaching style removes much of the mystery and complexity of taijiquan and allows both beginners and advanced students alike to more readily grasp the nuances of Chen Taijiquan.
